 12 noon (ending 1:30 pm)            5:00 pm (ending 6:30 pm)

 

What It’s About:

  • Presentations and discussion for all interested in the labor movement, and its connection with communities of faith
  • Exploration of issues:

the decades-old attack on labor unions, and their resulting decline to just 17%                    of the U.S. workforce

the growth of low, non-living-wage jobs

the importance of partnership in communities, in support of working families

  • Keynote Speaker: The Rev. Terrence Melvin,

    NYS AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer,     an organization with 2.5 million members

  • Coalition Speaker: The Rev. Emily McNeill,

    NYS Labor-Religion Coalition director
